First Teaser for Shark Movie Sequel '47 Meters Down- The Next Chapter' -

"Next summer - the fear goes deeper." Entertainment Studios Motion Pictures has debuted the first teaser trailer for 47 Meters Down: The Next Chapter, shamelessly riding on the coattails of this year's shark movie The Meg, in theaters this weekend. This was originally supposed to be titled 48 Meters Down, obviously enough, but they got cold feet and have decided to call it 47 Meters Down: The Next Chapter - which is an unbelievably lame title for a sequel. The cast hasn't been revealed yet. The film's director says he "would describe it as The Descent underwater," about "six or seven people trapped in the caves in Brazil, an underwater city." With an angry shark, of course. This looks so awfully cheesy, I don't even care to see more.

The official sequel to Johannes Roberts' 47 Meters Down, the "smash summer hit of 2017". 47 Meters Down: The Next Chapter, or also 48 Meters Down, follows five backpackers who go diving in a ruined underwater city and quickly learn they are not alone in the submerged caves. 47 Meters Down: The Next Chapter is again directed by English filmmaker Johannes Roberts, director of the first movie 47 Meters Down, as well as Sanitarium, Hellbreeder, Darkhunters, Forest of the Damned, The Expelled, Storage 24, The Other Side of the Door, and The Strangers: Prey at Night previously. The screenplay is written by Ernest Riera and Johannes Roberts. Entertainment Studios will release 47 Meters Down: The Next Chapteron June 28th, 2019 next summer - a bit less than a year from now. First impression? What do you think?

A Boy. A Girl. A Dream. Official Trailer

"Do you understand how important this is, and how important art is?" Samuel Goldwyn Films has debuted an official trailer for an indie romantic drama titled A Boy. A Girl. A Dream., from writer/director Qasim Basir. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, and it plays out as one-long-take following two people who meet in Los Angeles and go on a "thrilling and emotional journey" together, a bit like Richard Linklater's Before films. On the night of the 2016 Presidential election, Cass played by Omari Hardwick, an L.A. club promoter, randomly meets Frida played by Meagan Good, a Midwestern visitor. She challenges him to revisit his broken dreams - while he pushes her to discover hers. This looks so good, I'm a bit sad I missed it at Sundance, but happy I have a chance to catch up with it soon. THE APPARITION - Official U.S. Trailer

"The church would rather ignore a miracle than validate a sham." Music Box Films has released an official US trailer for an indie religious drama title The Apparition, which premiered at a few minor film festivals earlier this year. The latest film from French filmmaker Xavier Giannoli (of When I Was a Singer, In the Beginning, Superstar, Marguerite), the story is about a journalist who is sent by the Vatican to investigate a young girl claiming to be visited by the Virgin Mary. "Jacques gradually uncovers the hidden motivations and pressures at work and sees his beliefs system profoundly shaken." Vincent Lindon stars as Jacques, and the cast includes Galatéa Bellugi, Patrick d'Assumçao, Anatole Taubman, Elina Löwensohn, Claude Lévèque, Gérard Dessalles, Bruno Georis, Alicia Hava, as well as Candice Bouchet. Even though the title makes this seem like a horror, it's much more of a religious thriller with some unique twists.

The Nutcracker and The Four Realms - Official Trailer #2

"She's going to destroy everything my mother created!" Time to fight back against the evil forces! Disney has revealed a second official trailer for their new live-action take on a classic story - The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. Going back to the original story, this one has a darker side (as seen in this trailer) and seems to be a mix of Alice in Wonderland and Chronicles of Narnia. This new movie stars Mackenzie Foyas Clara, who gets lost in another realm where she finds gingerbread soldiers and an army of mice. The cast includes Keira Knightley, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, Matthew Macfadyen, Miranda Hart, Ellie Bamber, and Jack Whitehall. This second trailer features even more magical footage and stunning CGI worlds, with some weird twists and super wacky characters. I'm honestly not sure if I'm excited for this or not - there's just too much going on. I am curious about Lasse Hallström & Joe Johnston co-directing it.

Third Trailer for Ruben Fleischer's 'Venom' Movie Starring Tom Hardy

"Humans are disposable… But man and symbiote combined - this is the new race." Whoa!! Sony Pictures has debuted a third official trailer for the Venom movie, following its premiere inside of Hall H at the San Diego Comic-Con. The second teaser trailer was great, but this is even better - and it runs a full 3 minutes. Tom Hardy is journalist Eddie Brock in this anti-hero thriller, directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, 30 Minutes or Less, Gangster Squad). This looks like it might be the movie fans of the dark symbiote have been waiting for. The cast includes Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate, Riz Ahmed, Woody Harrelson, Michelle Lee, Sailor Larocque, Reid Scott, and a rumored appearance by Tom Holland as Spidey. Okay, this finally looks awesome. Really, really into this - the VFX are looking solid, and it looks extra dark.

One of Marvel's most enigmatic, complex and badass characters comes to the big screen. From Wikipedia: Development on this Venom film, a spin-off from the Spider-Man franchise, first began with producer Avi Arad in 2007. After going through various iterations, an R-rated standalone film was confirmed in March of 2017. The intention was to begin a new shared universe featuring the Marvel characters to which Sony has the film rights, though Sony also intends for the film to share the world of Spider-Man: Homecoming, which is set in the MCU because of a deal between Sony and Marvel Studios. Rosenberg and Pinkner were set to write, with Fleischer and Hardy brought on-board in May 2017. Filming began in October, in Atlanta and New York. Venom is directed by American filmmaker Ruben Fleischer, of Zombieland, 30 Minutes or Less, and Gangster Squad previously. The screenplay is written by Scott Rosenberg, Jeff Pinkner, and Kelly Marcel. Sony releases Venom in theaters everywhere starting on October 5th this fall. How does that look?

Godzilla- King of the Monsters - Official Trailer

"Love live the King." He's back!! Warner Bros has debuted the first official full-length trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters, following its premiere inside of Hall H at Comic-Con in San Diego. This sequel to Gareth Edwards's Godzilla reboot from 2014 is directed by Michael Dougherty (Trick 'r Treat, Krampus), and looking even more epic as Godzilla must battle other massive monsters, including Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three headed King Ghidorah. And yes we get a very quick glimpse at him in this. Dougherty's Godzilla: King of the Monsters stars Millie Bobby Brown (from "Stranger Things") plus Bradley Whitford, Vera Farmiga, Sally Hawkins, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Kyle Chandler, Charles Dance, Zhang Ziyi, Thomas Middleditch, with Ken Watanabe. So far, so good! This actually looks amazing - I love the Clair De Lune music, it looks so massive and spectacular and thrilling, oh my goodness.

The screenplay is written by Max Borenstein, Zach Shields, and Michael Dougherty. Glass - Official Trailer [HD]

"This is not a cartoon, this is the real world." Universal has revealed the first official teaser trailer for M. Night Shyamalan's Glass, the highly anticipated sequel to Shyamalan's Split from 2016, which turned out to be a secret sequel to Unbreakable. Glass combines all three and brings back all of the characters: James McAvoy as Kevin Wendell Crumb, a serial killer with 24 personalities; Bruce Willis as the "unbreakable" David Dunn; and Samuel L. Jackson as the frail evil villain Elijah Price, aka Mr. Glass. The full cast also includes Sarah Paulson as their psychiatrist, Anya Taylor-Joy, Spencer Treat Clark, Luke Kirby, Charlayne Woodard, and Rob Yang. This is a hell of a first trailer, really getting right into it and giving us some footage that looks fantastic. I am more than sold on this, it looks even better than I was expecting.

Night Shyamalan, director of the films Praying with Anger, Wide Awake, The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs, The Village, Lady in the Water, The Happening, The Last Airbender, After Earth, The Visit, and Split previously. This is produced by Jason Blum and M. Night Shyamalan, along with Marc Bienstock and Ashwin Rajan, co-produced by John Rusk, and executive produced by Kevin Scott Frakes and Steven Schneider. Universal will be releasing M. Night Shyamalan's Glass in theaters everywhere starting January 18th, 2019 at the beginning of next year. First impression? Who's excited for it already?
